Letter Press Exhibit.

The Fine arts is hosting an exhibit in the John A. Day Gallery called, “Letter Press: From Industry to Art.”

 

Letterpress is a form of printing that began in the 1450s. 

 

The relief process is created by applying ink to a raised

 surface and pressing it into paper which leaves behind

texture

 

The Letterpress collection includes work from USD students and typographers from all over the United States.

 

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 to 5. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The last day of the exhibit is April 9th where there will be a closing ceremony. 

 

  • Interactive Closing ceremony: John A. Day Gallery on April 9th from 5 to 7 p.m.


 

Anyone is welcome to attend the exhibit and closing ceremony. 

 

Those who attend the closing ceremony will get to create their own letterpress demos as a memoir of the collection.

Farmer's Market VO-SOT

The monthly Vermillion Area Farmers Market is open. The market is located inside the strip mall south of Walmart at 312 N. Bower St. Winter market hours are from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. There are many different homegrown goods and products from local vendors. The non-profit organization also has a pick-up option available to those interested. The University of South Dakota had a vaccination clinic on campus. A few students have been experiencing a never before seen side effect. These new effects have caused a few students across campus to grow extra limbs. Students affected by the vaccine are ordered to stay home, off campus and out of sight.
